Couscous, a new discovery.

I have recently discovered that rice, potatoes, tortillas, pasta and bread have a new friend in my pantry; Couscous.

This is a grain found an eaten in North Africa. The brand I used is the Dari Couscous  Morocco. It is simple to cook.

Package instructions:

  • In a bowl mix 2 1/4 cups of couscous with 2 1/2 cups of boiled water.
  • Add 2 Tbsp oil and salt to taste.
  • Stir then leave covered for about 4 min.
  • Separate the grains using a fork and microwave for 2 min.

Eat couscous with your favorite meat. I love it with baked chicken (click on picture above) and some type of veggie. Tomatoes are great.

Or add mint leave,green onions, tomatoes, cucumber , parsley, olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste and create a salad; Taboulé. Simply Delicious!
